Firm profile

Rail Service Hungaria Ltd. was founded in the year 1996 as a 100% owned company of MÁV Rt. for the operation of combined transport terminals and the management of containers owned by MÁV Rt. The Company first had 3 terminals, but later the combined terminals owned by MÁV Rt. were gradually integrated in the Company, which slowly resulted in a nationwide network.

Thus MÁV Kombiterminál Kft. soon became the market leading company in the operation of combined transport terminals in Hungary.

Under the current economic circumstances, however, the less profitable activities have been replaced by new, more efficient activities, such as cargo adjustment, Ro-La traffic and the rail siding operation

In the future, Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. intends to give a bigger role to the Company in the domestic combined transport and logistic services, as well as  in the foreign combined transport. The Company will continue its activity as a subsidiary of Rail Cargo Hungaria Zrt. which has been independent since the year 2006.
